Great popup day and £150 donated to local charities!

 

Book Garden community secondhand popup shop 25 October at Pipoca in Brixton Road was great fun! All books sold at £3 each and £150 profit was donated to local charities The Baytree Centre and Brixton Soup Kitchen.

Everyone asks where do the books come from? My eye is trained from bookselling and librarianing and I buy books from bookshops, booksellers, and charity shops, especially outside London! No raids on free boxes…though I often put books into them.

Donations are welcome, be in touch if you are local Brixton/Camberwell. Book I can’t use are passed on to locations around Brixton & Loughborough Junction, think this is a rich book ecology we are building.
